Here at First Southern, we believe students are both the present and the future church. We want our students to be excited about the life they have been given through Jesus Christ and then share it with the world. The purpose of our student ministry is to engage students with the love, truth, and joy of Christ.

The core of our student ministry is the Sunday morning Discipleship and Worship experience. Here students are challenged by a capable and loving teacher to grow in their faith, and have an opportunity to consider in the worship service how God may be directing their lives after Him. Whether their future is as a business leader, homemaker, teacher, artist, minister, or any other vocation, the Sunday morning time of worship is the time where students and families grow together in Christ.

In addition, we have regular programs and monthly events that further encourage students to take up the spiritual disciplines for themselves and to grow in their giftedness. Christian faithfulness is serving in one’s giftedness, and we work to help every kind of believer to grow into the godly man or woman God has created them to be.

Crossover – Wednesday Nights @6:30 pm in the Tecumseh House, 5206 Tecumseh Ln

Come join us on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30PM for Crossover. This time of discipleship is designed to destroy the preconceived notions of a Christianity that is dull and adventure-less. Designed for Middle and High School students, Crossover is about crossing over from death to life, and that means our eyes are opened to see that God is at work all the time and that he truly does have a fuller life in store for us than we can imagine. Every week at Crossover we play games, sing praise songs, and have a Bible lesson shared by one of our leaders.

Refuge College Ministry – Sunday Nights @6pm in the Tecumseh House, 5206 Tecumseh Ln

Refuge is about challenging college students to make Christ their first priority during college life. Designed for ages 18-25, every Sunday night at Refuge there’s a meal, a Bible Study, and a range of activities from movies, to homeless outreach, to sports and everywhere in-between. We’re usually finished up and hanging out by 8 on Sunday nights.
